Noctua has unveiled a prototype all-in-one (AIO) liquid CPU cooler that incorporates a phase-change mechanism, marking a significant advancement in thermal management for high-performance systems. This innovative design is entirely developed in-house by Noctua, without relying on third-party licensing, and is set to be showcased at the 2026 Computex event.
The prototype’s pump-block features a specialized treatment that adds layers of porous sintered copper particles along its microfins. This enhancement accelerates vaporization of the coolant, improving heat dissipation as it circulates through the radiator. The phase-change mechanism is designed to pull heat more efficiently from the CPU and distribute it across the coolant volume, potentially offering superior performance in demanding workloads.
In addition to the phase-change AIO cooler, Noctua has introduced the NL-ACF1 auxiliary fan, a unique accessory for its AIO coolers. Unlike other brands that often opt for screens on CPU coolers, the NL-ACF1 sits directly atop the pump-block with a conical frame that directs airflow toward surrounding components, such as the CPU VRM and memory modules. Installation is tool-free, with three contact points connecting it to the fan controller inside the block, ensuring synchronization with radiator fans.
