MediaTek has introduced two new processors designed to elevate the performance bar for flagship and premium smartphones. The Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500 leverage advanced process nodes and architectural innovations to deliver significant improvements in computing power, efficiency, and multimedia capabilities.
The Dimensity 9500s is built on a 3 nm process and features an All Big Core architecture, combining one Cortex-X925 ultra core clocked at up to 3.73 GHz with three Cortex-X4 premium cores and four Cortex-A720 performance cores. This configuration is paired with the Immortalis-G925 GPU, which supports advanced ray tracing for immersive gaming experiences.
On the connectivity front, the Dimensity 9500s includes a 5G Release-17 modem capable of 4CC-CA and up to 7 Gbps downlink speeds. It also integrates MediaTek's 5G UltraSave 4.0 technology for power efficiency and an AI network suite designed to optimize performance in weak signal environments.
Complementing the Dimensity 9500s, the Dimensity 8500 adopts a more power-efficient 4 nm process while maintaining strong performance with eight Cortex-A725 cores reaching up to 3.4 GHz. It supports LPDDR5X memory at 9600 Mbps and features an upgraded Mali-G720 GPU, delivering 25% higher peak performance with 20% lower power consumption compared to its predecessor.
The Dimensity 8500 also emphasizes AI capabilities, supporting global mainstream large language models (LLM/MLLM) and image generation models. It includes an AI semantic engine for intelligent content optimization and an advanced telephoto algorithm for enhanced imaging performance.
Both processors are expected to drive the next wave of high-performance smartphones, focusing on extended battery life, advanced gaming features, and AI-driven multimedia experiences.
