Intel Core i9-14900KF Achieves 9.2 GHz, The Fastest CPU Frequency Ever Recorded Hassan Mujtaba • at EDT Add on Google Intel's Core i9-14900KF has become the first CPU to break past the 9.2 GHz clock frequency limit, a world record speed. It's Well Over 9000, Intel Core i9-14900KF Sets The World Record For Highest CPU Frequency at 9.2 GHz The Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU might be three years old, but it is still one of the fastest chips from the blue team, with its 24 cores and 32 threads, that perform great in gaming to this very day. The Intel 14th Gen CPUs have already broken past the 9 GHz barrier, but the latest submission by Chinese overclocker wytiwx sets a gargantuan benchmark for future processors. Related Story Insider Says Intel Wants To Rival AMD With Future Sockets In Longevity, Also Planning New Raptor Lake Refresh For LGA 1700 Before getting into the details, let's recap the specs a bit. The Intel Core i9-14900KF features 24 cores based on an 8 P-Core (Raptor Cove) and 16 E-Core (Gracemont) configuration, along with 32 threads. It packs 36 MB of L3 cache and 32 MB of L2 cache, plus it was one of the first CPUs to feature a 6.00 GHz clock speed out of the box. The chip has a 125W TDP and a maximum turbo power of 253W. The new world record was achieved under LN2 cooling, and the chip only had 7 cores and 7 threads enabled. With this, the Intel Core i9-14900KF was pushed to 9206 MHz, the highest recorded frequency for any processor to date. The chip was operating at 1.348V. This record was achieved on the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX motherboard and 16 GB DDR5-5792 (CL32) memory. Pictures from the benchmarking session showcase a huge LN2 container, & the whole team that made this feat possible. Currently, there are only two CPU submissions at HWBOT that break past the 9 GHz barrier. One is the new 9206 MHz submission, and the other is the 9117 MHz submission, which was achieved on the Core i9-14900KS by Elmor. AMD's highest frequency record is now taken back to 7th place, and that was with the FX-8370 (8722 MHz).
