OWC’s CES 2026 Product Showcase

The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) provided the stage for OWC to unveil a comprehensive suite of products centered around its flagship Thunderbolt 5 technology. The company, known for its innovative storage solutions and accessories for macOS, demonstrated a range of offerings designed to meet the demands of professional workflows – from content creation to data management.

Envoy Ultra: Expanding Storage Capabilities

Leading the launch was the updated Envoy Ultra portable SSD. Building upon the success of its previous iterations, this new model boasts an impressive 8TB capacity while maintaining the performance levels expected from Thunderbolt 5. The Envoy Ultra delivers over 6,000 MB/s read speeds and write speeds exceeding 5,000 MB/s, significantly faster than earlier Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 solutions.

Key features of the Envoy Ultra include a robust, IP67-rated enclosure engineered for durability, safeguarding against dust, water ingress, and shock. Integrated within the enclosure is a custom Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) cable, streamlining connectivity and eliminating the need for external cables. The starting price for this high-capacity model is currently set at $1,699.99.

ThunderBlade X12: A Revolutionary RAID Shuttle

OWC also unveiled a substantial upgrade to its ThunderBlade X12 production shuttle RAID system. This device doubles the maximum storage capacity to 192TB by utilizing twelve 16 TB NVMe M.2 SSDs. The ThunderBlade X12 delivers peak read speeds of up to 6,600 MB/s and sustained write speeds reaching 5,990 MB/s – establishing it as the first Thunderbolt 5 RAID shuttle to achieve this level of performance within a compact form factor.

Designed for on-set use, the ThunderBlade X12 incorporates several practical features including a fanless aluminum chassis for silent operation, non-skid feet to prevent movement, and a locking power connector for enhanced security. Two Thunderbolt 5 ports enable the daisy-chaining of additional peripherals, further expanding connectivity options.

Dual 10GbE Network Dock: Enhanced Connectivity

For professionals requiring high-bandwidth network connections, OWC showcased its Dual 10GbE Network Dock. This device offers two independent 10 GbE Ethernet ports alongside a front-facing 2.5 GbE port and four USB 10 Gb/s ports. All components are housed within a fanless aluminum enclosure, ensuring quiet operation and efficient cooling.

Thunderbolt 5 Cables: Unlocking Full Potential

Complementing the new storage and networking solutions is OWC’s fully certified 2-meter Thunderbolt 5 cable. This cable supports data transfer rates of up to 80 Gb/s, optimized display workloads with up to 120 Gb/s, and delivers power delivery capabilities reaching 240 W. Crucially, the cable maintains compatibility with older Thunderbolt 3, 4, USB4, and USB-C devices.
