OnePlus 13 now supports simultaneous phone use and charging at full power, a first for the series. The device can sustain high-performance scenarios—such as gaming or video streaming—while drawing up to 120 watts from a charger without triggering thermal throttling. This capability is verified under real-world conditions with sustained load tests, where battery temperature remained within safe operating ranges even during prolonged sessions.
The new feature, integrated into OxygenOS version 16.0.3.501, works by dynamically rerouting power delivery from the charging port to critical components only when system demand exceeds a predefined threshold. Unlike traditional fast-charging modes that prioritize battery input, this approach ensures continuous performance without compromising thermal management.
Complementing this, the Photos app has been enhanced to handle images up to 50 million pixels in resolution. Editing operations—such as exposure adjustments or detail sharpening—no longer degrade output quality, even when applied to maximum-resolution captures from the device’s main camera. Internal benchmarks show no observable compression artifacts after multiple edit cycles, maintaining visual fidelity at native levels.
On the software side, OxygenOS 16.0.3.501 also introduces granular app categorization in Drawer mode, with dedicated Office and Finance folders for quicker access. Privacy controls have been expanded: users can now browse, search, and share files stored in Private Safe by sliding a side slider, streamlining secure data management.
Security updates include the January 2026 Android patch, which addresses vulnerabilities across core system components. Additionally, a Reply with SMS toggle allows users to suppress the reply option on incoming call screens, reducing accidental responses during sensitive conversations.
The update is currently available for a limited user base in India and will roll out globally within the next week. It applies to both the 12GB RAM and 16GB RAM variants of the OnePlus 13, priced at $869.11 and $759.99 respectively.
