Thermal Grizzly has partnered with Noctua to redefine GPU power monitoring, unveiling two new iterations of its WireView platform at Computex. The WireView Pro II Noctua Edition and the more compact WireView II represent a significant evolution in precision power measurement, particularly for demanding GPUs like NVIDIA’s RTX 5090.
The WireView Pro II Noctua Edition retains all the functionality of its predecessor—measuring voltage, current, temperature, and power from every pin on a 12V-2x6 connector—but does so with improved airflow-to-noise performance. This is achieved through a CNC-machined aluminum case paired with Noctua’s NF-A4x10 PWM fan, which includes semi-passive cooling to reduce acoustic output without sacrificing accuracy.
For users prioritizing compactness, the WireView II offers the same core capabilities but eliminates the display, targeting builds where space is constrained. Both tools are designed to address a growing need for precise power analysis, especially as GPUs like the RTX 5090 push the limits of 12V-2x6 connectors under heavy loads.
While the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition will carry a premium price point—reflecting its enhanced materials and cooling—the lack of a display in the WireView II makes it an attractive alternative for those who prioritize functionality over form. Availability is expected in September, though exact pricing has not yet been confirmed.
This partnership underscores a broader trend toward quieter, more efficient hardware tools, but the practical impact remains tied to how effectively these devices can measure power without introducing additional thermal or electrical constraints—an area that still lacks standardized benchmarks for high-wattage GPUs.
