HKC has introduced what is being called the world’s first 36.5-inch 8K MiniLED monitor, pushing the boundaries of display technology with a peak brightness of 1800 nits. The monitor leverages MiniLED backlighting with over 2000 zones, delivering unparalleled contrast and color accuracy, making it a significant leap forward for high-end visual applications.
The display, showcased at CES 2026, offers a resolution of 7680 x 4320, far surpassing the capabilities of current 4K, 5K, and even 6K monitors. This level of detail is paired with advanced local dimming algorithms that eliminate halo effects, ensuring deep black levels and dynamic contrast. Additionally, it supports a full DCI-P3 wide color gamut, providing extremely realistic color reproduction ideal for content creators, visual artists, and professionals.
While the technology is currently being demonstrated rather than sold, industry experts suggest that such designs could appear in flagship monitors later this year. This development follows other notable innovations from HKC’s partners, including a 49-inch QD-OLED monitor with a 5120x1440 resolution and a 1800R curvature design, as well as a high-refresh-rate eSports gaming monitor featuring up to 1080Hz refresh rates.
The introduction of this 8K MiniLED monitor marks a significant milestone in display technology. Its combination of ultra-high resolution, advanced backlighting, and color accuracy sets a new standard for visual performance. As the industry continues to evolve, such innovations are expected to influence the future of professional and consumer displays.
