NVIDIA’s latest GeForce 595.71 WHQL Game Ready Driver has resolved critical issues that previously caused GPU fans to stop spinning and introduced visual artifacts on RTX 50-series graphics cards, including the RTX 5070 and RTX 5060.
Users who installed the previous 595.59 WHQL driver reported problems where one or more fans would fail to operate, potentially leading to overheating risks. The new update restores full fan control and ensures hardware monitoring tools can once again detect all GPU fans, allowing for proper cooling adjustments.
Additionally, the driver addresses visual glitches such as green artifacts in Total War: THREE KINGDOMS and black bars appearing on RTX 50-series GPUs while playing The Ascent. These issues were previously reported after the 595.59 update, and NVIDIA has now corrected them.
The update also includes optimizations for games like Resident Evil Requiem and Marathon, ensuring smoother performance on supported titles. Users who experienced crashes or corruption in other games, such as Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), may also see improvements.
For PC builders and gamers, this update simplifies the decision to upgrade or maintain current RTX 50-series GPUs. Since the previous driver caused significant disruptions—including fan failures that could damage hardware—the 595.71 version restores stability without requiring a full system overhaul.
While the fix addresses most reported issues, users should still monitor their systems for any lingering problems, particularly if they rely on advanced cooling profiles or run games with demanding rendering requirements.
