Blizzard has rolled out a significant update for Diablo IV, introducing two new elements in a beta state: the Tower mode and Leaderboards. This update, patch 2.5.2, marks a strategic move to shape these features based on player feedback before their full integration.
The Tower mode presents players with a series of floors featuring randomized layouts and monster families. Players must battle through these levels, race against the clock, and unleash their builds to reach the final boss, completing their run. This mode is designed to offer a fresh challenge within the game's seasonal realm.
Access to the Tower is currently restricted to players who have completed Rank 2 of the season rank. Leaderboards will be updated in two-week rounds throughout each season, providing a competitive edge for those aiming to top the rankings. The current season, Season of Divine Intervention, will conclude soon, after which leaderboards will close and lock in, cementing player positions.
This update arrives as anticipation builds for the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion, set to launch on April 28, 2026. The expansion was revealed at The Game Awards 2025 and is expected to build upon the foundation laid by the first major expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which arrived in October 2024.
Players are encouraged to engage with these new features during their beta state. While Blizzard acknowledges potential bugs, they urge players to share feedback to help refine and enhance these additions to the game.
