Studio MDHR is Back With Two Cuphead Games: an 8-Bit Platformer, Cuphead Mighty Adventure, and a Hand-Drawn Action Platformer David Carcasole • at EDT Add on Google Iconic Canadian developer Studio MDHR revealed it has not one, but two Cuphead games on the way. One, is Mighty Cuphead Adventure, a 2D pixel-art platformer that looks to be a Studio MDHR take on a Mario-style platformer, and another that is what you'd expect from the studio: a hand-drawn animated action platformer that'll be more like what the studio did for the first Cuphead game and its Delicious Last Course expansion. Announced towards the top of Summer Game Fest as part of a pretty jam-packed opening, which also kicked off with the reveal of Resident Evil: Code Veronica and the official title reveal of genATLAS, the next game from Shadow of the Colossos maker Fumito Ueda. Related Story Resident Evil Veronica Reimagines The Classic Entry In The Series in 2027 on PC and Consoles There's no word on when both games will release, though in terms of the next hand-drawn Cuphead game, the teaser above does specify that it's in early stages of development. While Cuphead Mighty Adventure seems much further along, and we could potentially hear about a release date for that sooner than later. That said, it's not like Studio MDHR has much reason to rush. They're an indie studio built of a small team that had an incredible hit game, one that continues to sell years after its release. The team has the freedom it needs to work on their games as long as they need to. If not for the DLC in 2022, we'd be at close to a decade without a new game from Studio MDHR from the time the first game arrived.
