Asustor has unveiled two distinct NAS platforms designed for high-performance workloads, each addressing different needs in data storage. The Flashstor 6 Gen 3 stands out as an all-flash unit built around a Ryzen processor and DDR5 memory, while the Lockerstor V2 series offers more traditional SATA-based configurations with Intel Celeron processors.

The Flashstor 6 Gen 3 (FS806X1) is housed in a compact chassis measuring 48.3 × 308.26 × 193 mm. It features a six-core Ryzen 5 Pro R8640U processor with base and boost clocks of 3.5 GHz and 4.9 GHz, respectively. The system supports up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, expandable from an initial 8 GB configuration. Storage is handled by six M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots, providing a high-performance all-flash array.

Connectivity includes a 10 GbE port on the rear, alongside four USB ports rated at 10 Gbps and an HDMI output. The front panel offers two USB4 Type-C ports, supporting high-speed data transfer and external displays. RAID configurations supported include Single, JBOD, 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and spare drive setups, ensuring flexibility for different storage needs.

The Lockerstor V2 series presents three models with varying capacities. The AS6706T v2 is the largest, featuring six SATA bays and 8 GB of DDR4-2933 memory in a chassis measuring 185.5 × 233 × 230 mm. The AS6704T v2 has four SATA bays and 4 GB RAM, housed in a slightly smaller 185.5 × 170 × 230 mm form factor. The AS6702T is the most compact, with two drive bays and dimensions of 185.5 × 108 × 230 mm.

Asustor's New NAS Lineup: Performance, AI, and Storage Flexibility

Both models in the Lockerstor V2 series are equipped with Intel Celeron N5105 quad-core processors and dual 5 GbE ports, providing robust network connectivity. They also feature four M.2 NVMe slots alongside the SATA bays, allowing for mixed storage configurations.

A notable addition to Asustor's lineup is the Claw platform, an agentic AI solution designed to integrate directly with NAS systems. This platform aims to extend beyond basic AI assistants by handling logistics, analytics, and automated sorting tasks locally, reducing reliance on cloud-based solutions.

For developers and enterprises, these new NAS systems offer a range of performance options. The Flashstor 6 Gen 3 is ideal for high-speed workloads requiring NVMe storage and advanced connectivity, while the Lockerstor V2 series provides more traditional SATA-based storage with AI integration capabilities.

Asustor's focus on agentic AI and high-performance storage positions these systems as key players in the evolving landscape of local data management. Buyers should consider their specific workload requirements when choosing between the all-flash Flashstor 6 Gen 3 and the more versatile Lockerstor V2 series.
