Embark Studios has unleashed the Shrouded Sky update for ARC Raiders, delivering a mix of environmental hazards, new mechanical threats, and gameplay refinements that could reshape how players approach combat and loot extraction.

The update introduces two formidable ARC threats: the Comet, a larger, more destructive version of the hated Pop, and the Firefly, an armored aerial unit armed with a flamethrower. Both now roam freely, increasing the risk of third-party interference during fights—especially in open expeditions.

A storm system has also been added as a dynamic map condition, forcing players to navigate debris and high winds during Topside expeditions. The update further expands the Dam Battlegrounds map with a Controlled Access Zone, a restricted high-value loot area that adds a new layer of strategy for Raiders.

Key Changes in the Update

  • New ARC Threats: The Comet charges and explodes near players, while the Firefly circles with a flamethrower, requiring heavy firepower to take down.
  • Hurricane Map Condition: Adds wind, debris, and environmental challenges during Topside expeditions.
  • Weapon Rebalances: The Stitcher, Kettle, and Venator receive damage reductions, while the Jupiter and Aphelion gain reload and aim speed improvements.
  • New Loot Zone: The Controlled Access Zone in Dam Battlegrounds offers high-value rewards but requires special access.
  • Cosmetic Updates: A free Surgeon Raider Deck (facial hair customization) and the Volare Set bundle are now available.
  • Bug Fixes: Resolves issues like unregistered skill points after matches.

The update also removes an unpopular progression element, simplifies Energy Clip crafting at the Workbench, and introduces a Weather Monitoring System project for Raiders to complete, unlocking rewards tier by tier.

With these changes, players should expect more aggressive ARC encounters, refined weapon performance, and new opportunities for high-tier loot—though navigating the hurricane condition and securing the Controlled Access Zone will demand careful planning.
