In The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy, the path to nobility isn’t just about hard work—it’s about strategy. Unlike the straightforward ‘Find a Job’ route for commoners, the noble career offers three distinct entry points, each with its own cost, effort, and reward. With the highest-paying job in the game, the investment pays off quickly. Here’s how to claim your throne.

The noble career isn’t just about ruling; it’s about legacy. Whether you choose to research your lineage, seek patronage from an established noble, or buy your way into the ranks, each method unlocks a different kind of royal experience.

Three Ways to Become a Noble

There are no shortcuts—just different paths. Some require minimal effort, while others demand patience, charm, or a hefty sum. Below are the three official ways to ascend to nobility.

1. Research Your Noble Legacy

For those who prefer a low-cost, high-reward approach, researching noble history is the easiest entry. The book The Duchess Diaries: A History of Nobility can be found on any bookshelf in Ondarion or purchased for just 20 Simoleons. Selecting Research Noble Legacy unlocks the career with minimal fuss.

This method skips the need for connections or wealth, making it ideal for players who want to focus on gameplay rather than social climbing. However, it offers no immediate prestige—just a straightforward path to the throne.

2. Find a High-Ranked Noble

If you’re willing to invest time in social engineering, you can request knighthood from an established noble. Using the Kingdom Manager, identify nobles ranked level four or higher. Approach them with Request Knighthood under the Friendly interactions menu.

The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy: How to Claim Your Noble Legacy

This method is less reliable—many nobles may ignore you unless you’ve built rapport through Attempt Introduction or boosted your Charisma and Swordsmanship skills. It’s a gamble, but for players who enjoy roleplaying, it adds depth to the noble experience.

3. Buy a Throne

The fastest and most direct route is purchasing a throne. Two varieties exist: the Majestic Throne (2,500 Simoleons) and the Ornate Throne (3,000 Simoleons). Once placed in your home, interacting with it and selecting Join Noble Career grants instant access.

While this method requires a significant upfront cost, it eliminates the need for social maneuvering. Thrones are also essential for promotions and royal duties, so buying one is a practical long-term investment.

Inheriting a Noble Title

For those who prefer passive nobility, inheritance is an option. If you’ve bestowed your title upon a spouse or child (teen or older) already in the noble career, they can inherit your rank upon your abdication or death. This bypasses the need to climb the ladder entirely.

However, inheritance rules are strict. If a family member has a higher-promised title elsewhere, they’ll retain that rank. Otherwise, they can Claim Lost Career Rank if you lose your title through extortion or other means.

Promotions: The Royal Path

Once in the noble career, promotions aren’t automatic. You must select your throne and choose Noble Promotion to advance. From level three onward, you can opt for a Coronation Speech or Coronation Ceremony for added flair.

For those who dislike pomp, automatic career progression can be enabled in the pack settings. If qualified, promotions will occur at 7 AM without further action.
